Edinburgh Science Festival – A deeper appreciation of the world.

A boy

The Edinburgh Science Festival serves to honour the city’s renowned history of scientific innovation. By drawing people from all ages and backgrounds, it strives to cultivate a deeper appreciation of the world we live in and our influence on it. To this end, the festival created an interactive way to view the potential effects of two temperature-change scenarios ā€” 1.5c and 4cā€” allowing visitors to observe the consequences of both with their own eyes.

The transformation of data for the science festival was made possible with our self-build content tools – software that allows customers to quickly and easily create spherical display applications. This allows for rapid generation of simple menus systems, interfaces, keys and timelines. The PufferTouch used offers one of the brightest and most powerful displays available. It is built to thrive in challenging, high-use environments. With cutting-edge projection technology it provides enough brightness for bright, clear and crisp visuals, even in spaces with natural light present.

The PufferTouch is an eye-catching addition to the Edinburgh Science Festival. Visitors of all ages love playing with the sphere; viewing global datasets on the interactive screen offers a unique way for people to explore our world. For a festival that draws a high footfall, with displays heavily used by visitors, and the requirement to stay running for hours, the PufferTouch, with its tough acrylic screen and sturdy enclosure was purpose built for the job.
